A website must have Privacy, Terms of service and Disclaimer Policy
Be cautious about websites that use Pop-up ads
Always log out of your websites (ex. Online banking, e-mail accounts) especially if you are using a public computer
Check out the privacy and security settings of your social network and use them to control who sees what
Your computer shouldn't store cookies in your computer longer than 24 hours
You should use a known Antivirus Software on your computer
Make sure you have a firewall and that it’s set to “on”, install or upgrade virus protection software, and turn off file sharing to keep information on your computer safe
Never use the same login information for more than one website (ex. your login information for an e-mail account should not be the same as your login information for online banking)
Use a combination of letters, numbers and symbols when creating passwords which make it more difficult to unlock your identity
